TRADE CONDITIONS
Honey must:
| come from apiaries checked at regular interval by the competent authority | |
| come from beehives which have not been treated with substances dangerous to human health unless an official waiting period has been complied with | |
| not contain residues of veterinary drugs or contaminants listed in Group B of Annex I to Directive 96/23/EC exceeding the permitted level | |
| comply with Directive 74/409/EEC | |
| come from approved establishments | |
| be packaged, stored and transported under satisfactory hygiene conditions | |
| be accompanied during transportation by a commercial document |
CONDITIONS FOR ESTABLISHMENTS
Honey must come from establishments which:
| comply with conditions laid down in Directive 93/43/EC | |
| are approved and registered by the competent authority | |
| are subject to supervision of production conditions by competent authority | |
| carry out an own-checks programme | |
| keep records for 2 years on the sources of incoming honey and outgoing honey | |
| have a system linking each dispatched production batch and incoming honey |
IMPORT
CONDITIONS
Honey is imported only if:
| it comes from third countries which appears on an EC list (Provisional List => Decision 2000/159/EC) | |
| it complies with the trade conditions | |
| it is accompanied by a health certificate (model) |
